Patrol Squardron VP-41 : the radio gang, ca. 1939-1945.

Part journal entries, part memoir, "Patrol Squadron VP-41" relates the experiences of Erskine as he served in the Navy at Dutch Harbor, Alaska. He recounts the attacks made by Japanese fighters that killed many of the men who were stationed there at the time, and of the recovery made over the next couple months. Erskine also informs us in his journal entries of his testing for promotions, activity with other members of the LDS Church, and of the general day to day life he had during his most prominent few months of military service.
